Quiet Day in Oviedo

Aloha Everyone,

With the exception of churches and some museums, nearly everything closes starting Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. The two of us spent the day catching up with our research, reading, studies, drawings and cleaning.

It is distressing to read about the massive wild fires burning in Southern California. We are wondering how the air quality might be affecting wider areas of California.

The Dakotas are experiencing early snowstorms. Fortunately, we don’t have to go Rapid City any time soon.

Tokyo suffered a deadly typhoon. Tokyo also had a 5.7 magnitude earthquake.

Our thoughts and prayers go to people around the world who are suffering. We are reminded that the chilly, overcast weather in Oviedo is merely an inconvenience. Tonight J.J. made chicken, beans and mushroom soup. Hot soup was a perfect meal.

The weather apparently is still too warm for the entire building to initiate the boiler water heating system. It’s interesting to see about 1/2 of the people are walking around in their t-shirts and shorts pants while others are bundled up.

Aloha -- Cathi
