My Healthy Breakfast Choices

Aloha Everyone,

I have great healthy breakfast choices in lieu of walnuts, almond, crackers and cheese.





This morning I ate Cinnamon Cheerios with fresh whole milk with reduced fat.


It was delicious and I’m afraid I over ate. The cereal boxes are Family Size. It would take me a while to consume these two cereals.

My Sister’s Gifts from Hokkaido, Japan

Aloha Everyone,

Irene and her daughter just came home from their 2 weeks vacation in Hokkaido. She stopped by ESA to see us and give unique packaged gifts.

Dried kelps, seaweeds, okaka for cooked rice are all unusual and appreciated, but thumbs up to cough drops made of citrus fruit juice and rinds of the area.






Irene also brought J.J. kiwis and tangerines. I love our family’s thoughtfulness.

Back to ESA in Torrance

Aloha Everyone,

We had our car washed before leaving San Diego. By the time the two of us arrived in Irvine, it was 2:00 pm, a little late for lunch of Pho and egg rolls.





J.J. and I will be staying for 7 days at ESA in Torrance. Familiar room, we drove to purchase some provisions at Trader Joe’s and Nijiya for takeout Japanese bentos.







Had an incredible time in San Diego. It was also memorable to spend time drawing with my granddaughter and listening to her play duet on flute and piano with our son. Life is good!

Szechwan Seafood Lunch

Aloha Everyone,

We haven’t had any authentic Chinese food during our three weeks travel to Canada. Our today’s venue was a very familiar Szechuan Seafood restaurant.








Items on their menu have not changed though we noticed individual quantities and sizes have gotten smaller. J.J. quickly filled our table with his usual favorites. I left my appetite for small red and white beans sweets. Before our waiter presented our bill, I asked to add a dish of custard. J.J. raved about how delicious the custard was. Overall, it was a good lunch and added variety for our blog photos.
