Aloha Everyone,
A vast selections of restaurants offering Filipino and East Asian food are available within one to two miles walking distances. In addition, there are selections of European, Middle Eastern restaurants that can satisfy most critical food connoisseurs.
Ramen Nagi is the closest restaurant accessible from our condo building through the second level walkway. We have several criteria when choosing a restaurant. Aside from the quality of food, does the restaurant have comfortable seating? Overall reputation and service? Toilet on premise?
Tonight was the grand opening of Marugame Udon & Tempura. I think J.J. was pleased with the quality of the food. Unfortunately, both restaurants selected today had tiny hard benches with low back support.

From our residential condo building, there are elevated walkways that takes you all the way beyond the Ayala Greenbelt. Rainy morning with heavy traffic, we followed the signs and took a leisurely walk to as far as we could navigate without taking staircases.
The two of us encountered early morning runners, delivery people, office workers and some children being taking to school by their parents. Endearing sights and sounds made our one hour long walk tolerable.
There are three Greenbelt Residences buildings facing one another managed by a professional team. We experienced AC water leak and a mitigation team responded immediately. A pest control team inspected the unit within the last 2 days. Very attentive and professional. They have no access keys to private units and they showed up on time to assess the situations and returned to do remediation.
Trash room located on individual residence floors have large trash shoots. For recycling items such as paper products, plastic bottles and cans, we are asked to place them in large plastic bags and leave them in the trash room as indicated.
J.J. and I walked 2.8 miles and 4.5 miles respectively. Not bad for a rainy day.

Walked to Fairmont Hotel just a block away to have breakfast and to use their WiFi. Non hotel guests are charged higher for their breakfast. Our server took the initiative and he was able to use our US drivers license to get us approximately 30% senior discount.
Bambi’s birthday lunch hosted by Marita (they are J.J.’s sisters) at a Chinese Restaurant serving Peking Duck. Paolo, (left) one of Bambi’s sons, helped us with our WiFi router and getting our local phones working.

November is the rainy season in this part of the world. Due to sudden heavy downpours, traffic was heavy affecting our waiting times for Grab. By the time Dolores’ driver came to pick us up, we had spent nearly 4 hours at the restaurant.
Aquavit is a Swedish restaurant owned by Robert, a gourmet chef. Southeast Asian food including Filipino is made with combinations of multiple ingredients and spices. They are irresistible yet not very healthy for my diet. Solution is to request a simple items such as two soft boiled eggs. J.J.’s meatball was excellent and healthier than the more complicated dishes. This is another restaurant we will return.

We transferred to J.J.’s sister, Marita’s condo located just around the corner from Makati Diamond Residence. Very spacious 2B/2 1/2BA condo in an upscale condo building.
Cima, a long established Greek Restaurant in Manila. Authentic Spanakopita, an assortment of olives with feta cheese was truly satisfying.
