Returned Rental car, Lunch with My Sister Irene

Aloha Everyone,

Talk about our precise timing. Gave our gifts to Matilda, our preferred housekeeping staff before we left for ENTERPRISE to return the car. About 20 minutes waiting time spent in Irene’s car while she updated us with her grandsons’ activities.

Precisely at 11:30 am, we walked to the restaurant and were seated at our usual booth. Irene ordered Tempura Teishoku which came with a bowl of rice. J.J. asked for sashimi sushi special and me, my regular Ten Zarusoba served with cold soba and tempura.

J.J. and I both asked for vanilla ice cream. For an additional $6 each, the dessert was the best part of our meal.

Our dinner choice of Urban Plate was a huge disappointment. This is the 2nd time we are there. Tonight’s food and service were terrible. The only positive from our dining out is that we were able to do 7,075 steps or 2.4 miles.

Tonight we are relaxing watching Steven Spielberg’s 50 years of JAWS, a documentary.

Checking Off Our List

Aloha Everyone,

Haircut, manicure & pedicure and to our storage locker to store our extra suitcases with clothes and items we are leaving behind. Also to Wells Fargo to go over our CD that will be maturing while we are away on our cruise.

J.J. and I then went to Nijiya Supermarket for their sushi bento boxes.

On Sunday, we are returning our rental car at Enterprise. Irene, my sister will pick us up then she’s taking us to lunch at IseShima in the Miyako Hybrid Hotel. J.J. and I’ve dined at the restaurant several times in the past. A little pricy but excellent quality and I’m looking forward to spending some time with Irene and enjoy Zarusoba with tempura shrimp.

Flu shot at Walmart Pharmacy

Aloha Everyone,

Michelle is the licensed pharmacist at Walmart. It took about 20 minutes from the time I turned in the signed paperwork to get the vaccine ready.

Mindful that I can only get injections on my right arm and I had a pneumonia vaccine two days ago, she was careful. When I asked if I could take Tylenol, Michelle recommended that I should take lots of water but wait until tonight to take Tylenol. Reason given was that you want give time for the virus to do the work. Otherwise your body will suppress its effectiveness.

J.J. and I were impressed with Walmart pharmacy’s record keeping all the vaccinations we’ve received.

Our Appointments with Dr. Nguyen

Aloha Everyone,

Our follow up appointments to go over the latest lab results were not as painful as anticipated. She modified some of our medications but over all we were told to keep up the good work. Ah that means no cappuccino or morning cup of tea.

I was given a pneumonia injection and J.J. had a flu shot. We both felt lethargic afterwards. Went to look for Hawaiian foods to cheer up.

Sore arm and feeling feverish, so I took nearly a 3 hours nap.

Starting of BER Months

Aloha Everyone,

This is a joyful time of the year. 4 months leading to Christmas is when businesses start distributing their Christmas bonuses. J.J. shared with me that his Expatriate groups are greeting each other “Merry Christmas!”

Many of them are Australian and New Zealanders and some are Filipino who have since emigrated to other countries. Months with BER are usually more pleasant in the Philippines. Visitor counts are usually higher than the rest of the year. J.J. is monitoring to see how the current geopolitical situations will affect our post cruise plans.

Jollibee Chicken and Pork Asado

Aloha Everyone,

My favorite was sago, unique Filipino dessert, sweet and chewy. Does not compare to the one you find in the Philippines. J.J. says that it should be chilled and have it with honey.
