Hawaii Extreme Weather Causing Havoc

Aloha Everyone,

Tourists who visit Hawaii for the usually sunny weather are experiencing something very unusual. High winds, heavy rains and flooding are making residents and visitors miserable. On the summit of Maunakea on the Big Island of Hawaii, 13 inches of snow fell.

Our son, Jeff’s school in West Oahu remained open. As usual he would call me when he starts driving to school and again after arrival. The past few days have been more tense and I am very grateful when I receive his second phone call.

I am cognizant that many people around the United States as well as around the world are impacted by extreme weather conditions. We send our prayers and thoughts to those who have lost everything including food, clothes and shelters.

Aloha -- Cathi
