My Mother always greets us with “okaerinasai” Japanese greeting for welcome home whenever we go back to visit her at her home. She always cautions us to be careful on the road. She reminds us to be sure that J.J. and I are eating well and looking after each other. At every opportunity, my Mother asks how long are we going to continue our current nomadic, home-free lifestyle. I have no concrete answer for her. Our position is that as long as we are enjoying ourselves and physically and financially able, we see ourselves continuing our adventure of traveling in Honu and going abroad.
Our 10 days stay with my Mother was wonderful. With deep gratitude and inevitable farewells that comes at the end of each of our stay, we parted company this morning and headed to San Diego.
Here are some meals J.J. and I prepared for my Mother with small dishes that are visually pleasing, nutritionally balanced as well as tasty.
