Aloha Everyone,
There are 6 specialty restaurants on Norwegian Star that have an additional charge. Today, the two of us chose Moderno, which specializes in Brazilian-style food. The main distinction of this restaurant is how the food is served.
Upon being seated, we were invited to the salad bar. Excellent selections including olives, fresh and marinated vegetables. J.J. enjoyed the Stilton cheese.
When you are ready for the main entree, you flip a small red colored card to green. Slices of grilled beef, sirloin steak, garlic fillet mignon, chicken wrapped in bacon, pork sausages, lamb chops, pineapple glazed in sugar and cinnamon are prepared on skewers and the servers come to you table. The meat is sliced per your choice. With a side of mashed potatoes, rice, beans and plantain plus a choice of dessert, it was a very memorable dinner. I heard diners sitting in the next table that they are trying everything and were feeling too full but were reluctant to stop.
It was a wonderful sea day giving me a chance to do 6.6 miles walk with 23 flights of stairs.
