Aloha Everyone,
General consensus of our fellow passengers is that today’s visit to Sihanoukville was eye-opening, interesting, thought provoking, emotional, as well as educational.
J.J. and I paid US$15 each for about an half hour ride on an air conditioned shuttle bus. The ride unveiled street scenes and the life of ordinary citizens going about their daily life. It’s a poor, dusty city with uncollected trash and unpaved sidewalks.
When the bus came to a stop at the main market, passengers eagerly descended the vehicle. The two of us simultaneously agreed that we have seen enough. Thus, we remained on the bus which picked up 3 passengers and took us back to the cruise terminal.
Admittedly what we witnessed from the comfort of our bus was only a flimsy layer of a day in the life of Sihanoukville, Cambodia.
Aloha -- Cathi
