Some message speaks directly to your heart. My son Jeff and I are dedicated walkers. Occasionally we cite bad weather or other tasks on hand to try to come up with a legitimate excuse not to walk. But ultimately, having a good walking buddy, even we live in different states helps. We encourage each other. We remind ourselves how great we will feel after our walk. Walking is a salve for our mental, physical and spiritual well-being.
“Above all do not lose your desire to walk. Everyday I walk myself into a state of wellbeing & walk away from every illness. I have walked myself into my best thoughts, and I know of no thoughts so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it. But by sitting still & the more one sits still, the closer one comes to feeling ill. Thus if one just keeps on walking everything will be all right.” - Soren Kierkegaard, Danish philosopher (1813-1855)
