Jessica Lee, a 19-year old Aussie was fined $1,844 when she landed in Australia. Forgetting to declare her 1/2 leftover sandwich that was in her bag meant she had broken the country’s Biosecurity Act.It could have happened to anyone after a long haul flight. Jessica had flown over 8,000 miles in the span of 24 hours with one stopover.
The post of her ordeal in TikTok went viral. Subway gave her a voucher for $1,844 worth of sandwiches. A lesson from this fiasco, according to Subway, is “Always finish a foot long in one sitting.”
