Major's Coffee Shop in Pine Valley

Aloha Everyone,

J.J. and I've taken Interstate 8 regularly on route to and from San Diego. Today, we tried a new venue for lunch in Pine Valley a little town with a population of approximate 1,500. The place is about 43 miles from downtown San Diego and 25 miles to Julian, a historic gold mining town famous for its apples.

Majors' Coffee Shoo was established  by Mr. Major in 1959. The interior decor appears as if time stood still.

Tina, our waitress has been working here for over 25  years. She told us that Majors never closed since opening. Ownership has changed only 4 times.

I ordered my comfort food of oatmeal. J.J. enjoyed a hamburger with a side of tomato soup.

Tonight we are safely back in La Jolla. Joyful reunion with our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. It's been another whirlwind adventure that took us through 3 states and 3 countries over a 40 days period.

Aloha -- Cathi
