Urgent Care vs Emergency Room

Aloha Everyone,

Hospital emergency rooms provide medical care at any time, day or night. They are equipped and staffed for even the most complex or critical need.  Emergency care is for those who require medical assistance to save a life, save an organ or a limb. Under law, one cannot be refused due to his or her inability to pay for services rendered.

Urgent care centers are same-day clinics that can handle a variety of medical problems that need to be treated right away, but are not considered true emergencies. The service is also for those who cannot immediately access their primary care physician.

Our primary care doctor is based in Saint George, Utah. Therefore we are cognizant that when we become sick or injured, we cannot wait for the next appointment. As a normal practice, when we enter a new community, the two of us make mental note regarding the location of both urgent care and emergency room facilities.

Thai Bay Restaurant in Lincoln City was a fantastic find which J.J. and I added to our own “Restaurants worth a detour”.

Driving to Tillamook was over scenic  rural road. We covered the 50 miles in a little over an hour.
