Getting Back To Healthy Eating & Exercise Routine

Aloha Everyone,

We must admit that there are challenges in maintaining our exercise routine and healthy eating habits, especially when we travel abroad. For instance, I eat a hearty breakfast of fresh avocado slices, boiled egg but only 1/2 egg yolk, 1/2 small fruit, WASA crackers and a cup of cappuccino. J.J. prefers an even simpler breakfast of slices of bread, cheese, fresh fruits and a large cup of cappuccino,

My Mother’s mantra for her good health is to avoid restaurant food. They taste good, but often have additives. For breakfast, she makes French Toast using one egg and milk, fresh fruits, often watermelon in the summer, slices of avocado and a cup of black coffee.

So here are some our meals for the last 4 days we tried to eat-in Honu. Trout plate was my lunch at Cracker Barrel and the CarnĂ© Asada was JJ’s lunch at a Mexican restaurant.

As for my daily exercise, Flagstaff weather and the KOA campground is a perfect place to get my 3 to 5 miles a day walk. J.J. is focusing on strengthening his leg muscles to increase his ability to go on longer walks.

Aloha -- Cathi
