Colorado is an outdoor paradise. There are numerous summer activities for serious athletes, as well as for more casual weekenders. With beautiful wildernesses and awe-inspiring mountain ranges, hikers, bikers, boaters and fishermen were on the road. Many, like the two of us, were heading to the Rocky Mountain National Park.
Our original plan was to make it to Stillwater Campground located in the Arapaho National Recreation Area in Granby.
At the Visitor Center, we were told that due to heavy traffic in the park, we have to allocate at least two hours to cross Trail Ridge Road. Getting late in the day, we decided to spend one night in Estes Park KOA and meet Diane by noon the next day.
