Aloha Everyone,
We walked to the pier after a big send off from Manoli and his staff at Xenia Hotel. I think we could honestly say that the services we received at Xenia Hotel was comparable to what we expect from a top hotels catered to business clientele. The two of us are now back in Syros staying at Diogenes Hotel. Only difference is that this time we got an upgrade to a room with direct harbor view.
Our ferry ride was much more smoother than on Blue Star Ferry 9 days ago. Paying four times more (€37.70 for each instead of €8.75) for our JET2 catamaran tickets really helped. The large catamaran did not pitch and roll as much. We both said, “It was well worth it! “

Our boat stopped at Paros then Mykonos for about 15 minutes each. Once we approached Syros, J.J. and I hurried to get our suitcases stored in a luggage rack and got off the boat to a now familiar port.
Had a brief chat with a stranger who was intently working on his pen & ink artwork. He is a professional chef on his way back to Athen now that the tourist season in Santorini has ended.
We had an early dinner at a nearby Italian restaurant and went to bed.
