Active Day with My Sister

Aloha Everyone,

3 days before our departure is crunch time. But when my sister called and invited me to hangout with her, I didn’t want to miss the chance.

Imagine that in about 2 hours, we visited 5 stores located across the city.

Our first stop, Best Buy was for my sister to purchase an iPhone charger.

ALDI is a German Supermarket chain stores owned by billionaire Albrecht family. They are targeted to open 2,400 Aldi stores in the United States by the end of the year. Acquisition of 400 Winn-Dixie and Harvey grocery stores located in the American South is getting Albrecht family closer to their goal.

In their published report, it states that approximately 90% of the products sold at ALDI are from ALDI exclusive brands. Though it was difficult to confirm without going one item at a time.

To discourage people from walking off with their shopping carts, they have a 25 cents deposit system when you get a cart and you get 25 cents back when you return the cart. It is rather cumbersome process since most people shop using credit cards and do not carry coins.

Our final stop was Trader Joe’s where she purchased gift items to take along to her friends in Japan.

My sister will be gone exactly a week with a whirlwind schedule while J.J. and I will be leisurely cruising through the South Pacific Coast.

Aloha -- Cathi
