Day 9, Sea Day

Aloha Everyone,

The Immigration Authorities of French Polynesian need the passports of all guests to be checked before arrival in Papeete. Our passports will be returned after immigration has completed the inspection.

Today is one of the roughest sea days per announcement by Captain. The high swells and pitching is expected to last for the next 48 hours or so. Winds 15-16 miles per hour is challenging for me to walk. Comforting thought was the Captain statement that we are on the perfect ship to navigate these rough seas. Built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industry in Japan, the Sapphire Princess is used for Arctic and Alaska voyages due to its excellent sea worthiness.

I am inserting photos I took during our quick drive through Waikiki to Kalakaua passing by International Market Place, Diamond Head, Black Point to Kahala. Some things have changed but others remained the same. Nostalgia filled with happy moments of our children’s growing up years and J.J. and my working years in Oahu.
