Aloha Everyone,
We were on the road for 500 miles, the longest drive for J.J. taking a total of 7 hours behind the wheel. Average speed was about 70 mph.
Stopped at Chili’s for lunch, but found out that they don’t open until 11:00 am. The bartender brought a huge basket of chips and salsa to tidy us over. Promptly at 11:00 he served us our lunch. The price of our lunch was $21 and the chips were given to us complimentary. J.J. left him a $9 tip for his consideration. The bartender was very happy with the unexpectedly large tip.
Arrived at Rapid City tired and relieved that we made it back safely. When I asked J.J., do you feel like we are coming home? He replied, "No, do you?" This home-free lifestyle suits us fine. Even though there are uncertainty and surprises along the way, the two of us are happy to be on the road.
I ended up doing 19,000 steps or 8.1 miles inside Honu. It’s not really walking but more like doing stationary exercises burning some calories.
