Honu Gets 60,000 Miles Service

Aloha Everyone,

We have been traveling with Honu) for 18 months. Today  we went to the Mercedes Benz dealer in Lindon, Utah for Honu's 60,000 miles servicing. They changed the engine oil, transmission oil, and replaced the fan belt. A computer was attached to the engine for re-calibration.

J.J. also requested for front and rear wheel alignment. It took their mechanics nearly 5 hours, but we are happy knowing that our home is in tip top shape. The total cost of $921 was well worth it. Our main concern is road safety.

For the past 3 days, we have been carefully monitoring rain and snow forecasts on I-15. As we approached Spanish Fork. The sky became dark and the temperature dropped. We expected snow so J.J. pushed on without stopping for lunch at a restaurant.

Then the icy drizzle turned to snow and instantly we were driving in a winter landscape. Trying to maintain an average of 60 mph in stormy weather was not easy. At times for safety, J.J. reduced Honu's speed to 35 mph. Snowfall came and went as we crossed mountain passes.

We were grateful to be back in Hurricane and settled in at now familiar Willow Wind RV Park.

Aloha -- Cathi
