¡Hola Guadalajara!

Aloha Everyone,

When arriving at a new destination, we have to be prepared for little hitches and disappointments. Especially during the COVID-19 era, things often are different from what they advertise online.

To sort out our taxi ride from the Guadalajara airport, drive to our hotel then trying to straighten out our reservations took us nearly an hour and a half. Hot soup and a fruit salad at the hotel coffee shop helped calm our travelers’ stomach. By the time J.J. and I sent emails to our children to let them know that we have arrived, the two of us have been up for more than 24 hours.

The hotel, classified as a 4-star, caters to the local population. Lobby area and the restaurant seems to be always full of domestic tourists.

We have a Junior suite which is meant for 4 people. It has two pull out sofa beds plus two full bathrooms. The hotel is really either a 2-star or 3-star starting to show its age. But we are grateful about the size of the room because we are staying more than a month.

Aloha -- Cathi
