Aloha Everyone,
We are less than 5 minutes walk to the Guadalajara plaza where the cathedral is located along with other government offices of Jalisco.
Old squares and many historical buildings including churches and parks are familiar to us from our previous visit. But we also notice tragic tolls left by COVID-19 resulting in closures of business establishments including hotels and large restaurants.
Glaring presence of national and municipal police, National Guard, and private security guards are very strong reminder that even in Guadalajara, there are problems with drug cartels. A Canadian friend who had lived in Mexico sent us personal reminders of being vigilant and not to go out after dark.
