Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum - Cactus Garden

Aloha Everyone,

The Cactus Garden was undoubtedly my favorite stop on the “do-it-yourself” museum tour. Perhaps it is also springtime in the desert or maybe the super bloom from the Mojave Desert has reached this far. The super bloom requires several days of continuous rain which is unusual in the desert.

There is something very remarkable about flowering cacti. It is wondrous when thick, hard and often not very unattractive stems are able to produce some of the most delicate and captivating flowers. Amazingly beautiful yet short-lived these fleeting desert beauties are truly worth photographing. Please enjoy!
