Revisiting the Prado Museum

Aloha Everyone,

This is the main national museum of Spain and for me it is a “must” art museum to visit. This year is also a significant year for El Prado as she is celebrating its 200th anniversary.

Following the plan of the building, I stopped to enjoy some of my favorite works by Fra Angelico, Bosch, Dūrer, Raphael, Rubens and Titan. J.J. who is much more selective than me on which paintings he would personally like to view joined me for El Greco, Velazquez, Goya and Rembrandt’s rooms. A Museum of this size and magnitude really requires a minimum of a week to absorb and immerse yourself to appreciate so many great works.

For lunch, the two of us stopped at the Cafe Prado for excellent modified Greek Salad for me and a plate of paella for J.J.

Today was a very good day. We are adjusting to our Madrid life. Leisurely walking to El Prado plus climbing up and down stairs to visit many of the rooms in the museum resulted in recording 7.7 miles or 17,000 plus steps on my iPhone health app :-).
