Tang Soo Do

Aloha Everyone,

Today was a belt promotion day for our granddaughter's Tang Soo Do school. She has been studying Tang Soo Do, a Korean martial art for nearly 2 1/2 years. There were approximately 30 students who were tested and received their promotions. Their warm-up exercises were very similar to the ones I practice for yoga and Qui Gong while the fighting principles of martial art resembled T'ai Chi techniques.

Attending  children were poised, sat on a hardwood floor with their back straight, eyes on the Tang Soo Do master or whoever was being tested.

Benefits from Tang Soo Do for students was clearly evident. It teaches them concentration, courage, endurance, tension and relaxation, self control including control of speed and power. Equally important is that they learn honesty and humility, self respect and respect for others.

J.J. and I applaud all of the children for their participation and to their parents for their support.

Aloha -- Cathi
