Back To Goose Island State Park

Aloha Everyone,

Happy and satisfied with my first fishing experience, I slept 10 hours! After a hearty breakfast and promises to visit Jim and Susan again or to meet them somewhere in the United States, J.J. and I were back on the road.

Lunch stop at Bubba's Cajun Style Seafood Restaurant in Seadrift. J.J. ordered the grilled shrimp platter and gave me 1/2 baked potato. I asked for grilled broccoli and shared the onion rings with J.J.

We are back at the Goose Island State Park. Before settling at our camp site, J.J. and I went to look at the 1,000 year old oak tree, which is fondly referred to as the "Big Tree".

A team of Rangers were watering the tree with a firefighter's hose. We were informed that 10,000 gallons of water is given to the main tree and 20,000 additional gallons to the surrounding oak trees. They bring water in a truck.

Aloha -- Cathi
