When I saw Paul in front of the Texan store, I couldn't help but stop to make a comment about his impressive beard and mustache. He mentioned that they would soon be "coming off" as it would be too hot during the summer. He and Jami were on their honeymoon. With a big hug to Jami, we wished them much happiness and a good life.
Three Rivers is the largest city located at the gateway to the Choke Canyon State Park with a population of nearly 2,000.
Valero refinery is prominently located within the city limit. We were told that many residents find their employment there.
Algave Jalisco Mexican Restaurant served very good, authentic dishes. As usual, the portion of my plate was too large so I packed 1/2 for J.J. to enjoy later.
I have not been able to learn where the name Choke Canyon comes from as the land is flat and there is no canyon to speak of. The reservoir provides drinking water for the city of Corpus Christi.
We will be spending the next two night before moving to another state park.
