Baristas, A Unique Dining Experience in Hurricane, Utah

Aloha Everyone,

J.J. and I noticed the metal bull sculpture on West State Street, the main thoroughfare in Hurricane, Utah.

The entrance to the restaurant is from the back, which is rather odd unless they follow Feng Shui (Chinese belief of wind and water to be associated with good health, thus good Feng Shui means good fortune).

The owner, Stephen is a creative individual, but what impressed me more is the gallery of amazing color prints of Antelope Valleys. He explained that they are creations of his late Mother who was the first to receive a license to organize tours. She was also an accomplished self-taught photographer. You can appreciate the minute details of the sacred Navajo land when the place was pristine and unscathed by the rush of tourists.

Stephen showed me the adjacent land he had purchased where a gallery will be built to house his Mother's enormous and unparalleled gift.

J.J. and I shared a bone-in rib eye steak and a salad with walnuts, avocado and blue cheese. No frill dishes were excellent and we were happy to spend $62. http://baristasrestaurant.com/

Finally, we are extremely grateful to have found Doctor C in St George who will be our Primary Care Physician.   J.J.'s lab results are stellar compared to mine so my goal is to make a significant improvements during the next 3 months. That means more exercise, more yoga, more qui gong, more juggling and meditation. Also more attention to my diet. Thank you Doctor C for coming into our lives.

Aloha -- Cathi
