Honu's 2nd Anniversary

Aloha Everyone

Two years to-date since Honu came into our lives. We have traveled 70,000 miles, and visited 42 states.

I asked J.J. prior to starting our RV adventure, if he imagined that we (well mostly he) would be driving so much, he gave me his gentle, reassuring smile and said, "The pace which we are traveling may be too fast for most retirees, but then we are not the norm."

Our gratitude go out to our family and friends, old and new who continue to support us in living our "home-free" lifestyle.

Today's drive from Las Vegas, we went on I-15 South to US 395 to Bishop, CA covering about 300 miles. Coincidentally, The Astro Burger, was our lunch stop two years ago. J.J. had a hamburger and helped me with my Pescado dish (fish). For a small diner located in a middle of nowhere, the quality of food is excellent.

Bishop is located at the center of California in the Eastern Sierra. It is a small town with a population of 3,763. Named after Bishop River who took its name after Samuel Addison Bishop, a settler in the Owen's Valley.

Brown's Town Campground has an inviting facade. Tall trees provide shade to individual sites. There are snow-capped mountains in the vicinity. J.J. and I enjoyed our evening walk.
