Seven Hours On The Road To Carson City, NV

Aloha Everyone,

Up at 6:00 am, J.J. and I had our coffee in Honu then joined the family at 8:00 am. After enjoying our showers in their ultra-luxurious master-bathroom, we sat down for breakfast consisting of fruits and yogurt.

The 5-year-old boy presented me with a list of things to do before our departure. He also did a portrait for me on his iPad. Well they certainly kept me busy. Our visit was brief but thoroughly enjoyable and we appreciated their genuine welcome and gracious hospitality.

Now whenever I hear the 1968 popular song by Dionne Warwick, "Do you know the way to San Jose?" my thoughts will be on Tai, Chie and their delightful children.

Lots of weekend traffic. We were on the road for seven hours straight to reach Carson City, Nevada. Unfortunately, Gold Dust Casino Hotel & RV Park was full so we are staying in at a RV park with basic accommodations. For dinner, J.J. and I walked to a small casino located just across the street.

J.J. had a 12 oz Prime Rib with baked potato and he helped me finish my 8 oz Prime Rib with vegetables.

We are expecting light rain throughout the night.

Aloha -- Cathi
