Diane, Volunteer in Park, VIP

Aloha Everyone,

There are many opportunities where one can get involved as a volunteer in a national park. It's a great way to enjoy nature, learn something new, chance to meet interesting people, make a positive contribution and find a meaningful way to spend one's life.

Volunteers we meet are curious, active, caring and dynamic individuals. Even if one does not have special talents or skills, all one needs is a strong desire, passion and willingness to take on new adventure.

Our friend, Diane is a VIP (Volunteer In Park) at the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. This is her first time volunteering in any national park and she has been sharing some of her experiences.

Diane wrote, "It is truly a beautiful park, and I love all the mountain peaks (at least 60 peaks over 12,000 feet high in the park). I'm still seeing a lot of elk and moose which always cause a jam on the roads, especially the moose, and especially because now some babies. In fact, I was "stalking" a mama moose and her baby this morning..."

Now that is a real adventure!
