Aloha Everyone,
The easiest way to remember the Portuguese’s pronunciation of our 4th destination city is “queen bra”. Honestly!
When J.J. and I stepped up to the taxi stand and asked a taxi driver to take us to Ibis Hotel, he chuckled and said it’s just a 5 minutes walk. Pulling our luggage on a cobbled stone street added a few more minutes.
J.J. booked us a Zen Room at this Ibis Hotel. It is a basic no frills tourist hotel room with a pleasant park and the river view. The fact I am able to practice yoga and meditation makes it a very special accommodation.
Description
The Rio Mondego, the longest river in the country runs within the territory of Portugal dividing old city and new city of Coimbra. Our hotel’s location in the the old city with the Rio Mondego frontage. It is one of the most photographed scenes of the city. The two of us are looking forward to exploring Coimbra.
