From Madrid to Barcelona

Aloha Everyone,

Our train ride from Madrid to Barcelona was 2 1/2 hours. I spent the time cleaning my photo files and mailboxes. A constant reminder that my iCloud storage is almost full probably means that I need to increase my storage capacity.

The first 5 photos are from our Madrid stay which we wanted to include in our blog.

Colors and topography of landscapes approaching Barcelona reminded us of the Western United States.

The weather is sunny at 63 Fahrenheit. We had about 3 hours before our room in Barcelona was ready. J.J. and I went to have a cup of coffee; walked around; and found a barbershop. Adham is originally from Syria, but he has been working in London. In excellent English, he talked about Syria and England, the geopolitics of the Middle East as he expertly gave J.J. a haircut. J.J. says that he was getting a bit concerned as Adham was enjoying our conversation and thus his hair was getting shorter. Truthfully, it is one of the best haircut J.J. got recently. The last one in Georgia was in a shopping mall near a military camp and they automatically gave him a razor cut!

The accommodation is clean, but modest compared to the other hotel rooms we had on this trip. We do have an en suite bathroom and English TV channels. The shape of the room is a triangle. One plus is that we have a view of outdoor gym. Hearing children’s laughter is always cheerful and pleasant. Another plus is lots of restaurants nearby.
