Happy Veterans Day! Our sincere gratitude to those of you in the military for your service and sacrifice.
Madrid, the capital of Spain is the political, economic and cultural centre of the country. This is also where the Spanish monarchs have their residence.
According to the 2015 census, Madrid has a population of 3,141,991. The city’s economy ranks 1st in Spain and 3rd in GDP in the European Union (EU).
The two of us are looking forward to the next 6 days experiencing and observing sophisticated Madrileños; visit parks and world renowned art museums and palaces.
Madrid Atocha train station serves as the corresponding point for commuter,, intercity, regional and international trains. During the past 6 weeks, J.J. and I have come through here six times for connecting trains so it was exciting to finally walk out of the station.
Our Hotel Agumar is located next to the Atocha train station, the Retiro Park and the city centre. J.J. and I went on a short walk to get ourselves oriented and to enjoy the our immediate neighborhood.
