Practicing Yoga With My Mother's Bonsai Club Members

Aloha Everyone,

Members from the Bonsai Club came to my Mother's house (actually her backyard) for their year-end meeting. People started to trickle in and my Mother asked me to show them some yoga poses.

It is always a great pleasure when I am given the opportunity to practice yoga with others. It is especially gratifying fir me to teach yoga to those who have never had prior experience.

Of the 11 people who showed up today. I had 4 enthusiastic participants.

All were men, in their 60's to 80's. When I asked if they have any pains, they each shared with me their ailments such as back pain, low or no energy, stiff body and difficulty sleeping. One person mentioned to me that he would like to improve his memory and become smarter.

We practiced some standing and sitting poses for about 30 minutes amidst giggles, laughter and grunts. For those who have practiced yoga with me, their favorite kraiys was "HUD". It was humbling to hear: "Tonight I can sleep very well," and "I feel totally relaxed." "I will start moving my body more and try to stand straight."

"Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured."
