Back at Holiday Inn Express

Aloha Everyone,

I have written about that the Philippines has the longest Christmas season. At least 4 months starting in September.  Now I find out that people continue to celebrate Christmas.

At Baguio Country Club, Bing Crosby’s White Christmas was being played every day. Today, Sunday January 8 is the Epiphany of our Lord, Jesus Christ to all people. Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI so dedicated when the Magi visited the Christ Child.

We are back at Holiday Inn Express for 3 nights. The hotel is fully booked and they have posted new breakfast hours from 6 am to 10 am.

To get back to our routine of walking, J.J. and I made a list of things to do including buying bottled drinking water and two cans of soda water. He also purchased a packet of batteries for his mouse.

Philippines customs include wearing sashes to identify individual’s job or positions. J.J. commented that instead of having these non productive people, they should train them to be cashier. Having two people packing your bag actually slowdowns the process.

For lunch, we returned to Fat Seeds for our ultimate favorite grilled salmon and spaghetti alla vongole, real Italian style.

We ended our day with 5.3 miles walking for me and 3.4 miles for J.J.

Aloha -- Cathi
