Back to My Mother's Home

Aloha Everyone,

Today we drove 6 hours 30 minutes covering 366 miles averaging 56 mph. We made two fuel stops, one rest stop at a lovely early California mission-style locale. For our lunch, we made a short detour to Solvang.

California Highway 101 passes through predominantly agricultural area until it reaches Santa Barbara.  Some parts of 101 are freeway. The driving became tense as we approached Los Angeles but over all, it was an enjoyable journey.
