Honu Goes to Vancouver, British Columbia!

Aloha Everyone,

We had a very smooth entry into Canada.

Stopped at the Brutish Columbia Visitor Center to exchange money and obtain tourist maps.

Our friends, Tony and Marissa, took us an exciting adventure of their hometown. The first stop was the Granville Island Public Market. A fascinating place with stalls after stalls selling fine quality unique gourmet foods that we really had difficulty making our selections.

Here are Tony and J.J.'s Crusted Clam Chowder.

So many wonderful sights. Here are some photos of Vancouver and some interesting facts about the city:

A) Vancouver is ranked as 3rd most livable place in the world for quality of life.

B) Stanley Park is 1001 acres and it is 10% larger than New York City Central Park.

C) 65% of downtown is residential.

D) Has the highest real estate prices in Canada.

E)  Attracts over 15 million visitors per year.

F) About 40% of the population is foreign born.

After the wonderful dinner at home, we took a stroll around the neighborhood to catch a beautiful sunset. A very fitting way to close our first day in Vancouver.

Aloha -- Cathi
