Yosemite National Park

Aloha Everyone,

Yosemite National Park is one of the most impressive of all our national parks. Even though California is suffering from severe drought, still one cannot be moved by sheer size of the valley and spectacular granite cliffs.

The park supports a very diverse plants and animals. Elevation of park range from a little over 2,000 ft to over 13,100 ft. I read that among California's 7,000 plus plant species, approximately 50% are found in the Sierra Nevada and more than 20% of them are within Yosemite.

This is the height of the summer tourist season and for some students, the last holiday week before school starts. Cars, motor homes, pedestrians and hikers abound, we had to navigate Honu through mass of humanity through the U-shaped valley. We ended up skipping  many of Yosemite's known attractions and promised to return when the crowds have dissipated and rains have returned.

Please enjoy some of the photos of Yosemite National Park.
