Mission Santa Barbara

Aloha Everyone,

On December 4, 1786, Padre Fermin Lasuen of the Franciscan Order found Santa Barbara Mission. The original mission was founded on the feast day of  Saint Barbara as the 10th mission for the religious conversion of the local Native American tribe of Chumash.

My Mother is our first house guest. Since she can only spare 3 nights, J.J. and I decided to reverse the route we recently drove by going North on 101 to Monterey then take Route 1 South.

We had a leisurely stroll through Solvang before having our dinner at the Red Viking Restaurant.

Tonight, we are back at a RV park in Buellton. I might have tired both J.J. and my Mother by suggesting that we take a long walk. They are both taking cat naps.

Aloha -- Cathi
