Sunset Bay State Park

Aloha Everyone,

The drive this morning to our next destination was less than an hour. From 101 North, we took West Beaver Hill Road to Seven Devils Rd to Sunset Bay State Park.

On our first attempt, we were informed that the camping ground was full. However following Mary Sue's suggestion at the entrance we returned promptly at 11:00 am and we were able to secure a site for the next 4 nights.

Every Wednesday morning they hold Farmers' Market in downtown Coos Bay. For our lunch, J.J. and enjoyed freshly prepared Mexican food.

We purchased Aged Cheddar from Nicole who is with Face Rock Creamery in Bandon.

Mary Jean makes her  hand-made soap products. I bought a bar called Naked Oatmeal.

Mike, the owner of Sea Fare Pacific was selling his ready to heat and eat array of products. J.J. and I purchased four different types to try.

Our refrigerator and pantry are now stocked with food from this morning's purchases.

Heirloom apples - 11 small tennis ball size in a basket was $2.50.

We also purchased Bleu Cheese and Green Olive Specialty Bread from Village Baker.

Honu has been parked in the Walmart parking lot in Coos Bay. J.J. and I have been here for nearly 3 hours to take advantage of the strong AT&T signal. Once we returned to the Sunset Bay State Park camping ground, we may get weak text messages at best.

Aloha -- Cathi
