J.J., as most of you know, is much more adventurous than I am when it comes to dining local-style. Occasionally, J.J. also gets a craving for Chinese food. Last night I acquiesced and we went to Hong Kong Restaurant. We stepped in and were greeted “¡Hola! “Nǐ hǎo” and “Hello”. I guess the employee wanted to cover all the bases.
Our food was so-so though I ate only a little of soup and a bit of mushroom, pepper without chicken. This morning J.J. woke up feeling violently ill. Thus began my solo adventure day.
I went to have a quick breakfast in the hotel cafeteria, then walked to the nearby Farmacia (Pharmacy) to purchase medicines for him. My second trip was to the fruit shop for kaki (persimmons) and pears and a liter of water.
I kept J.J.’s company though he slept most of the day. One place I wanted to see, the synagogue in the Walled City has to wait until our next visit.
