A Day Trip to Delos & Mykonos - Part 1

Aloha Everyone,

By 8:30 am, J.J. and I were ready and we walked quickly to the pier to catch our tour boat to Delos and Mykonos.

Delos is known for its ancient archeological site. As the boat approached Delos, fellow passengers either seemed enthusiastic or disappointed. The island is small and barren with no trees to provide shade. J.J. and I paid 12 € each to enter but if you have EU identification, you pay only 6€. I overheard an American woman proudly explaining to others that she happened to have a Danish ID and was able to save 6€.

We were given a small handout and with instruction do not climb any monuments (which by the way are 90% rubble, and don’t get hurt as there’s no First Aid, and please enjoy yourselves.

Delos island is 5km long and 1,300 meters wide. The place is dry and desolate. I saw 4 structures which could be employee housing.

Aloha -- Cathi
