First Day in Naxos

Aloha Everyone,

The family-owned hotel is located along Ag Georgios Bay. From our first floor balcony we have a cobalt blue color partial ocean view. On their website, we are only 4 minutes away from the archeological museum of Naxos, 5 minutes away from the medieval castle of Naxos. When I go out to the walking path along the bay, unfinished columns of Apolo Temple can be seen perched on a hillside.

We began our first full day with an amazing breakfast spread.  During our 6 days of stay, I plan to assemble very interesting and healthy breakfast plates.

Among the list of things to do was our laundry. Minoli, at the front desk, offered to call a laundry service who came to pick up our clothes at noon, professionally laundered, folded and delivered it to us by 6:00 pm. The cost for 2 bags (dark and light) came out to €26.

Naxos is the largest of the Cyclades Islands. Our initial impression is that this is more cosmopolitan, attracts both long-stay like us as well as rush and see as much as we can groups of short stay visitors. For now, the safest pathway for my solo walk is the main corridor of restaurants and shops. When the wind is bearable, I can also walk along the bay while JJ enjoys his afternoon cup of coffee.

Aloha -- Cathi
