Charming Town of Waseca and Friendly Welcome

Aloha Everyone,

Waseca, a small town with a quaint downtown is truly an Oasis in South Central Minnesota.

We were able to enjoy a wonderful lunch plus a lovely brief encounter with Jasmine at Daily Grind. It is a popular downtown coffee shop and restaurant in a building once occupied by a bank. http://www.dailygrindespressoshop.com/mobile/

Our sincere thanks for the kind assistance offered at the Chamber of Commerce. The restaurant recommendation, directions to their public library and to a post office were all very helpful. J.J. and I were able to accomplish three things we set out to do today.

I telephoned RV campgrounds to confirm that they are still open. James at Checkers Welcome Campground, located in the small town of Welcome, came across as enthusiastic over the phone. Therefore J.J. and I decided to bypass three other RV parks on I-90.

James and his wife purchased this business 2 years ago. They also own a bar and grill in town.

Welcome is one of those great names for a town. It is named after Alfred M. Welcome who owned a farm circa 1881.

Red Flag Warning has been issued in this county. It means the current weather condition of strong wind, low humidity and warm temperature (61F and falling) can result in a rapid moving fire.
