Aloha Everyone,
Canyonlands National Park is divided into 3 sections: Island In The Sky, The Maze and The Needles.
Our focus was to visit The island in the Sky. From Utah Route 313, to the Grand View Point Overlook was approximately 40 miles one way. The road was well paved but with a zig-zagging pattern. It was not easy driving on sandstone cliffs which were over 1,000 feet above the surrounding area. We took advantage of stopping at many scenic pullouts with spectacular views.
The town of Moab rightfully advertises itself as the gateway to two national parks: Arches and Canyonlands. On our two previous visits, we devoted our time visiting Arches National Park.
